The 2021 Short fiction prize awards the overall winner with U$192 (Nigeria currency 74,016), Second runner with U$128 (Nigeria currency 49,344), and third runner up with U$96 (Nigeria currency 37,008) and publication at W.M.L.M blog;

RULES:
— The prize is open for entries from 1 September 2020. The deadline for receipt of entries is 22nd November 2020 (West African time)
— All entries must be written in English language
— There are no geographical restrictions on entry: while the prize is African based, all writers — within and outside Africa — are welcome to enter.
— There is an entry fee for each story submitted via email address. The entry fee for each story is U$48 (Nigeria currency 18,504). Those outside Nigeria and beyond should forward their payment through my paypal account with this email address: www.saveparadigm5678@gmail.com
— The maximum length of submissions is 1500 words, not including the title. There is no minimum length.
— Your writing should be based on this year theme. The theme of this year ward is "BLACK ARE GIANTS"
— Entries will be read and judged anonymously; entrants names and contact details should only appear in the entry form and not anywhere on their manuscripts.
— Entries should be I a Standard 12pt font and double spaced. Entry is online-only, via email address. Entries sent through submittable will be discarded.
— There are no multiple entries. One entry by each writer.
— Entrants must be 15 years old or over in October 1st.
— No corrections or alterations can be made after receipt of an entry.
— Entries my be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been previously published, in print or online., (Including self publishing, ebook, audio, journals, websites, social, magazines, etc). Or won a prize in another writing contest. Any entry found to have been plagiarized will be disqualified.
— The final judging process or selection will be conducted by the founder of African Horizon blog, Obaji Nwali Shegun with co-editors of W.M.L.M.
— The overall winner and the 2nd, 3rd prize winners will be published online at W.M.L.M. Acceptance of the winners implies agreement for the relevant story to be published online. Shortlisted individuals will be contacted about this by email after the first, Second and third prize have been announced.
— Entrants will not be contacted individually about the contest results unless they are selected for the shortlists.
— Finally, Entries that fail to comply with the rules may be disqualified.
